“Flash is a multimedia platform that is popular for adding animation and interactivity to web pages. Flash is commonly used to create animation, advertisements, and various web page Flash components, to integrate video into web pages, and more recently, to develop rich Internet applications.”
(From Wikipedia)Sounds great! Doesn’t it.
Now the downside.
With all of the current developments in Mobile and Tablet devices this popular ‘Flash’ technology is going to be used less and less.
If you have ever turned off ‘Flash’ (ClickToFlash Site) you will encounter a few interesting things. Firstly, and most importantly, the pages you visit will load A LOT faster and as a user of the internet we generally want things to go faster. For a Website Owner, you really want your site to load quickly, and by eliminating Flash elements your visitors can get to what they want faster.
The processor requirements within your computer really speed up. Flash eats processor power and laptop battery life.
Secondly, and another big factor, is the future of Internet usage and mobile computing.
